To messure religion...
I think that the religion can only be messured in our hearts... because religion is in the heart of human beings.
I think that the religion is not important, the important thing is to have a true relationship with God.
We need to not lie to ourselves and to not try to lie to God (He knows everything, He can not be fouled). I think that in that reletionship with God is te meassure of the religion, and that meassure must be between everyone and God...

Well... I am not exactly a mall loving girl... I like to buy new stuff once in a while but... I ussually don't have the patience to wait for my mother and sister to try every one outfit in a store, and then getting the first one they tried!
I preffer to enter a store with what I want in mind... I don't like to try a lot of stuff... I preffer to go in alone... but ussually, I don't have a lot of cash so... with my mom I shold go...

Well, for me, God has the final word. That not mean that if I got too sick I will not fight, since is God who has the final word, not me, my doctors, my family, etc.
I have seen miracles, when God gives someone more time to live. But until Jesus came back to the earth, all of us are going to die. And if someone think that by fighting God is going to extend his or her lifetime, well... I think that that someone is not going to enjoy his/her final days.

When you believe, you follow christianity to obey God. I believe that God is the only one that you need to fear. You don't need to fear death, or life, o anything, but God (even if as a human you are weak, and sometimes you have fear). God was the one who reached for us with His son Jesus. Jesus died for all of us, and He says that He is the only way to reach God.

Other religions will not take you to God, bacause they claim to thake other ways. And some of them have many gods, and is almost impossible to please them all. Or their original makers weren't trying to make a big religion at all, or be worshiped. (I am not an expert in humans beliefes)

If you believe in God, you must follow God. If someone make the desicion of not believe in God, they will not get convinced by anything that anyone say. If you want someone (that not believe in God) to believe, pray for that someone, maybe God will have mercy and their eyes will be open (only God can do everything).

With christianity you are not looking for a religion, you are looking to have a close relationship with God.

Armageddon, the name, I mean, is a greek term for the Valley of Meggido, a place situated in Israel. Basically, Armageddon refers to the place in wich will take place the Holy war of God against His enemies (before the millenial kingdom). It did not refer to an asteroid hitting earth (thanks Hollywood), or to any other signal like that. Today that is only a place, mentioned a lot of times in the Bible, like the valley of blood, the Valley of the Sons of Hinom and like the Valley of Meggido (sorry if I misspel something, I read the Bible in Spanish most of the time)

Sometimes I did think that Michael and Jesus and the "Angel of Jehova" are the same person. Is logic, and with all your biblical refferences I think that you think that too. Anyway, Jesus did say that he existed before the patriarchs, so, he must have been there, in the Old Testament, just as He is in the New one.

I am a Christian (evangelic, protestant, etc.) My grandgrandmother, my grandparents and my parents are christian (my father is actually a catholic, and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior too). I preffer the "Reina-Valera 1960" version, since I speak spanish as my first language. All the quotes I put on treads, however, are from the "New Live Version", in english, because I think that is very easy to understand. Most of english versions are too difficult to understand (that really old language, I think).

Then, all the other human ideas that cause that much pain in this world are that, human ideas. I don't think they worthy of so much pain, only the faith in Jesus as our Lord prevails, and this:

I will add something. As for myself, I know that there are errors in all the works of man. And the Bible, at it is, have been copied over and over by the hand of man, before the printed books appear. and then, it need to have errors. I am not telling that it have errors that come from God, it have errors that come from man. But, anyway, I am not doubting of its massage, for me that errors are something like this:

The Psalm 14 and the Psalm 53 are basically the same. Is a human error to add twice the same Psalm to this collection (there are only 150 psalms anyway).

Jesus isn't refering here to the son of Barachiah (the prophet), He is reffering to the son of Jehoiada the priest, who was killed by the king of Judah Joash, exactly as Jesus say. Afther all, Mattew did not know Jesus in person (he write this from the point of view of another person, maybe Peter), and this error could be there because someone (who did not know the Scripture of the Old Testament) identified wrongly this Zechariah.

And for the tellig that an "all loving God" will not say this or that, it is only a modern concept of God that come from modern philosophical thinking. But in the Bible we learn that God not only is all loving, He know that the punishment (Hell) is as necesary as the reward (Heaven), and He himself is the definition of justice.

And I love to have an intelligent conversation. You have your faith, I have mine. And as for faith, I know that I can't understand it, I just feel it. Is irracional, but there it is. And as for science, I know a lot of scientific facts, and I don't see anything wrong with them. They feed my brain and my spirit. The science is our knowledge of this world, based on empirical facts. The empirical facts can support some theory (like the Big Bang theory, for example), or can go against it. Then, some scientist decided to support some theory and others decide to don't support it. And here we come to my point, you can use the scientific facts to support watever you like (for me, every new thing I know about this world support my faith). The science is not absolute, is not the ultimate knowledge, because is traped inside the human point of view. Then it only reveals the truth that some scientist decide to believe. But if some empirical fact arises that denies a theory, the people that believes that the theory is a good explanation for somethig can choose to accept that new fact, or to say that it is not valid.

And for the book of Job, I have read it many times. It explains that even the most perfects between the humans beings can suffer. And than the suffering can be a trial to prove to the devil that a person is sincere in his/her belief. Is a beautiful story, and if you question me, yes, I believe that is a true story (even if it have been transformed in a poem). Job has one major flaw, he thought that he know everything about God, but he just know a little bit about Him.

And I know that the Bible must have errors (it was written by the hand of man afterall), but, I did not see how it was made, so, I can't say "This part happened just like it is written, and that part no". I just see the fact that even in persecution, doubts and discussions, The Bible have lasted more than 20 centuries. (And I know there are some other sacred scriptures that even have lasted longer, that is an empirical fact). But I see the Bible as the most logical of all them. It was written to show how God decided to give the humanity a way out of the sistem that He Himself had made, since the humanity can't achieve salvation on their own.

And for the imperfections, if we were perfect, we will not have anything to do, that is why I said that the world will be boring. If you are perfect, you can't do anything better that before, because you can't surpass perfection. Is logic, if something is perfect, then, it can't get any better. That is the same thing that I was trying to say in the example of the cochroaches. They are so perfect that they don't need to change (they can eat watever they find, they can survive radiation better than almost any other being, etc.) We are imperfects, so we change to try to be better than we are (that is what I undertand from that manga pic).

About Darwin and his theories... A lot of people use this theory to say: "See, the world just changes, there is nobody who created it". I know the world changes, and the persons changes, and the species change. But this fact don't make me thing that the world just appear, out of nowere, without anyone to make it appear; or that the life just appear, out of nowere, without anyone who makes it appear. I think God gides this changes, and that God make the world better for us changing it until He decided that we could live in there.
Some weeks ago, I saw a program in the National Geographic Chanel. In this program says that, after years of genetic research, with genetic material from people from all around the world, they fainally have discovered that all humanity proceed from just one single male (he lived around 60000 years ago). Curious, isn't it? There is a scientific fact that says that all of us have one single parent. But I know, this man did not look exactly as we look today, his decendants have changed, in every generation there have been changes, adaptatios, natural selection, etc. But for me, this cientific fact does not denied that God create the world, it only makes me wonder how much patience He has (He have dealed with us for 60000 years, not only 6000, and He still endures us). Fantastic, isn't it?

I think there is possibly another explanation to this law in particular (other than medical, even if this is accurate in my opinion). The cananites that lived in the soon-to-be Israel in the time that the Leviticus was writen, practiced some "ritual sex" with women, with men, even with animals (not only in rituals, I think). It was part or their rituals to worship their gods. So, if they (the chosen people) were doing the same things as the cananites, they should be judged with them. A lot of the laws were made to avoid the idol worshiping.

I am a questioning scientist. I am an Food Engineer, graduated from college. I don't think of me as a gullible idiot, sincerely. As a believer, I don't want to have only the things that other people want me to believe (that only creates fanatics, people who do anything in "The name of God", even breaking his laws). I want to know what God want me to believe. And the Bible is the best way to find what is what God want us his creatures in this world, to believe. I don't find the scientific knowledge to be against God, or against religion. This world is wonderful. Everyting in it is wonderful. But God have make some thing imperfect and some things more perfect (if the cocroaches have lasted 225 millions of years without change, I think that these bugs are more perfect than us, poor humans, with only 2 millions years in this planet). But since you didn't accept Bible arguments, I will give you a Manga one, about why we need imperfections (a human opinion, but I think that this is very accurated):

I will never believe that God want all the people to be ingnorant. Really is not what that passage means. The passage is reffering to the people that thinks that God can't see them, so they do evil things in the dark. It does not refer to the knowledge. There are several passages in the Bible that urges the people to think, to understand. Do you ever have read the book of Proberbs? It has hundreds of references to be wise, not simple or ignorant.

My Grandpa did see a ghost. The day one of his friens died, he was in the National Bank of Guatemala, paying the water bill, and then he sees his friend (our ghost guy worked in the bank) and say hello to him. Later that day he learned that his friend did not go to work that day because he was dying in his house, around the same hour that he saw him in the bank. I will say, that if I say: "I don't believe in ghost", I will be saying that my grandpa was a liar (he already passed away).
And I know that there are some things beyond our senses, and that there is a soul fo every living thing, so, why can't be ghost out there?

I will say, I was hoping that you will ask it. You say something about "Why God did not make us all perfect?" And in asking that, you are questioning God. The point in that quote is that God is saying to His people that He is the maker, and that them are in His hands to make with them whatever He likes.

Heaven is were the just go when they die, hell is were the bad will go when they get judged. I think that the hell isn't in use, yet. It will get in use when Jesus send all the bad people to dwell in there along with the devil and all his angels.
Heaven is were all the people who believe in Him will live until he came back to the earth. I believe that all the people who have died in my family is in there, and I am going to meet them when I die.

I think that the drugs need to be legalized. But not only for health care. When the alcohol was ilegal in the past century, all the people that sell alcohol illegally became rich. Is the same today, all the people who sell drugs became rich, and because the drugs production is no controled, the products are more dangerous than the products made for health care. I think that if the drugs are something legal, then the people that sell them (the "narcos") will need another source of illegal income.

But of course, the drugs bein legal is not good for the people. The tobaco is a legal drug, and all the smokers today know that is dangerous for their health, but they still use it. And that is because the drugs are addictive. You can't trust that knowing that something is dangerous will stop people from wanting to use it. Today, even knowing that the drugs are dangerous, expensive and ILLEGAL don't stop people from using them.

But I think that the people that really need them should recive them, not the people that only is an addict. But the addicts are the bigger market...
